Denver Boudoir – Featured on Geektastics!
For anyone that really knows me, it is no secret that I am a bit of a geek. One of our most favorite shows in our home is the Big Bang Theory, although sometimes it’s a little eerie to see the similarities between my husband and Sheldon! We have seen every episode, several times, and there is rarely a day that goes by that doesn’t have some sort of quote or reference to the show in our home.
I feel like that show has really made being a geek cool again. Well, actually was it ever cool? Now it’s cool to like comic books, characters, and the things that used to be reserved just for the “nerds.” I am more of a computer geek and can tell you what several IT acronyms mean, my husband is the Star Trek/Star Wars geek, and Kaden likes it all, so between the three of us we have all of our bases covered.
With that in mind, I have several geeky friends and clients. Ladies who love comic book characters, Dr. Who, and make their own amazing character shoes! Rhianna is a beautiful woman and contributor to The Geektastics, a blog celebrating a geeky girl’s view of the world. Recently I was asked to contribute, and jumped on the opportunity! I was interviewed for The Geektastics before the new website was live, and this particular question from Rhianna struck a nerve with me:
Your business platform is based upon women feeling great about themselves no matter their size. When will you be expanding your online portfolio to include plus size examples?
The old website had gone without being updated for so long, but I am pleased to say that my website now features women of ALL sizes. Rhianna had some kickass questions, and really made me think, instead of just the standard go-to questions.
What has been the most surprising aspect of doing boudoir photography?
Boudoir is an amazing journey, and I love everything about it! The most surprising thing has been to discover that while the photos can be pretty racy and sexual in nature, the session itself is really more about intimacy. For a woman to undress and bare everything in front of you really requires a level of comfort that takes a lot of cultivating beforehand. A boudoir session is amazingly empowering, and my clients walk away feeling like they can βconquer the world.β
I have actually been told that by several clients –
