Yesterday I was interviewed for a feature and we talked about how I got started in boudoir photography. Isn’t it funny how we don’t think about our start very often but when someone else asks the questions, it all comes FLOODING BACK?
For anyone that’s new here, welcome, I’m Brooke and have been specializing in boudoir for 15 years now, have received numerous awards, been published in numerous publications, and have been named Colorado’s Best Boudoir Photographer, Top Portrait Photographer in Denver, and the “Boudoir Queen” of Colorado.When I first started working with women, I wanted them to remember that they’re gorgeous. And that’s still true, but it has evolved, especially after I had my daughter.
There’s something about having a brand new baby girl that just changes your perspective, right?
When my daughter was born, I knew I wanted more than reminding women that they’re beautiful. I wanted women to know their POWER. To have confidence, and remember that they are worth everything that they want.
And as this has evolved even more, I have been working with MEN on the same things now too – because we live in a culture that teaches us that if we just buy one more thing, THEN we will be acceptable.
Boudoir photography isn’t just about the photos – those are a beautiful reminder of an experience that leaves you feeling empowered and confident.
Because that confidence bleeds into every aspect of your life.
So many of my clients do a session as a gift for their partners – which is great – but ultimately, the gift is more for YOU, the person in front of my lens. When you learn to embrace that confidence, it shows up in other areas, as a parent, as an employee or business owner, as a partner, and more.
