Well good morning, party people – or evening, night, whenever you’re reading this! I have some exciting news – I was named the Best Boudoir Photographer in Colorado by LuxLife magazine in the Global Excellence awards.

Now that we have those out of the way, I’m going to take a moment to really breathe and accept this award, because it is SUCH an honor to be named the Best Boudoir Photographer in Colorado.

I actually found out about this award back in November, but then, busy season, and everything that comes with it… so the announcement had to wait.

Plus, sharing awards and accolades is not something I’m 100% comfortable with, I wrote about it here.

I have an inbox full of women who have shared how their session changed their lives, and I don’t take that lightly. Sometimes it’s a little surreal for me, that I’ve been able to specialize in such an amazing niche for 13 years now. Becoming the best boudoir photographer in Colorado was NOT an overnight accomplishment, and I need to take time to be proud of what I’ve accomplished.

But don’t we all?

Okay, maybe not all – we all know the dude who can’t stop talking about how amazing he is while everyone around him is rolling their eyes and he just keeps talking. Even worse, he’s usually talking about how much better he is than everyone around him.

I know that I have so many clients, friends and family members – usually women – who do amazing things, win awards, and get drenched in praise, and just shrug it off. Ladies – we need to STOP this.

I have spent 13 years becoming the best boudoir photographer in Colorado and I know that whatever you have accomplished, chances are you spent a lot of time getting there as well.

Maybe you’re not even THINKING about what you’ve accomplished.

• Maybe you’re a mom who is almost done raising her 3 kids while working and taking care of everything at home too.
• Maybe you’re a daughter who has taken care of a disabled parent for most of your life, while still having your own life and figuring out how to make it all work.
• Maybe you’re a wife who wants so much to support her partner, even though it means you don’t have the time you need to build your own dreams.

We are ALL just doing the best we can, working hard to move our lives forward in the direction that we want them to be. We’re not always successful at that – because you know, life – but damnit we need to start celebrating our successes, big or small.

So I’m going to take a moment to enjoy this award. To remember all of the beautiful clients who have come into my studio. Their stories, their experiences, their kind words. I am the best boudoir photographer in Colorado because I care so much about my clients, and that is a beautiful thing, I’m going to honor and celebrate it.
