Denver Boudoir Photos – Featuring the Gorgeous Mrs. J – Part 1 of 2
Another throwback post! I work with so many beautiful women to complete their Denver boudoir photos, and am absolutely in love with my new studio! Anyone who knows me knows that I have the attention span of a 2 year old… and need to do new things to really feel on fire! Sometimes we do new things in the studio, like new sets, new lingerie, and new lighting. But sometimes I get outside of my studio and shoot in amazing new locations! This is always a bit of a challenge, because sometimes I can’t control the light like I can in studio. But sometimes that ends up being the best part, seeing new light, and new ways to do things!
Every year, I trek over to Las Vegas for the HUGE Wedding and Portrait Photographers International conference. I know, I know, it must be rough right? But I really don’t spend a ton of time partying. I used to do a ton of classes, but lately it has become more about meeting new people and learning new things while SHOOTING – not necessarily in a classroom. Last year I wanted to work with a specific couple that I have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know on Facebook, from Louisiana. They work together as boudoir photographers, and their dynamic is so amazing – they love each other and support each other like few couples I have ever seen. I knew I wanted to photograph them! So together, a friend and I set up the session – two photographers, two subjects. Although to start out, we wanted to work with Mrs. J on her own, and do some ladies only boudoir, before working with the couple together.
For Mrs. J’s portion, we opted to do a more natural look, without a ton of makeup, or crazy lingerie or shoes. Believe me, I love those too, but sometimes a very natural and feminine look is just gorgeous!
I asked Mrs. J for her responses to my feature questions, and she was so awesome to fill them out, but with two parts – one female, one couple – I’m going to split the responses. While it might seem like being a boudoir photographer would make someone feel completely natural in front of the camera – I can assure you, that is definitely not the case. We have the same insecurities and concerns as other women do!
How do you feel about your body?
This is actually the hardest question for me to answer. I’m constantly told by people how great my body is because I’m small, but personally I’m not so crazy about it. I have some pretty deep rooted self esteem issues from my upbringing.
How did you feel about being half naked in front of the camera?
I felt like a sexy beast in front of your camera! Ha ha! Seriously though, I was nervous as hell at first, but the way you dove right in not only made me comfortable, it actually made me feel extremely sexy! Your playful coaching really helped me “feel” the poses and expressions.
How did you feel after seeing the photos we created?
LIKE A SEXY BEAST!!! For real! I was blown away by how hot I looked! I didn’t have a doubt that you could make me look good, but I didn’t know I could look HOT!
What’s your best tip for feeling sexy?
Wear sexy underwear under whatever your wearing, no matter where you’re going. Throw away ALL those underwear that are “meh”!
Mrs. J is an amazing woman, inside and out, how about some gorgeous photos?
