Denver Boudoir Photos – Boudoir in Cosmopolitan – WHY Should You Do a Boudoir Session?

No, not the photos – Cosmo has photos like that all the time. But an entire article about boudoir is now featured in Cosmopolitan magazine, and I LOVE the entire premise: It’s for you too!

I have heard several times “I’m single, I don’t have anyone to give the photos to.” This kind of shocks me. :) Boudoir photos are NOT JUST for the man in your life, it is a session for YOU, to empower you and remind you how beautiful you are! Why would you have a boudoir session done? There are SO many reasons! Cosmo highlights 14 different women with 14 different reasons, here are a few:

“I did it to capture being in a great place.”

“I did it to celebrate being single.”

“I did it to honor my weight loss.”

“I did it to celebrate being a woman.”

“I did it to commemorate my years of service.”

“I did it to heal from domestic violence.”

I really love that the article goes through the different reasons that women have done boudoir sessions. I tell women all the time that it might start out as a gift for him, but will really become a gift for yourself – and I think they just kind of smile and nod. Until after their session, and they get it. Yes, boudoir makes an amazing gift for your significant other, but it’s an amazing and empowering experience for YOU too.

Registered nurse Danielle G., 33, says she decided to do a shoot to remind herself of how good she looks now so she can look back when she’s older. “It may sound silly, but I work in a field where looks and beauty are a primary focus and see women of all ages seeking the youth and sex appeal they once had,” she says. “I love seeing my boudoir book on my dresser and thumbing through it every now and then when I feel down or not especially pretty. It’s a nice reminder on a bad hair day.”

Almost all of my clients respond with “that’s ME?!” when they see the photos. The transformation and everything that goes into it reminds you that you are beautiful now, as you ARE. Not after losing ____ pounds, not after getting rid of _____, but RIGHT NOW.
