Denver Boudoir Photographer – Featuring the Beautiful Mrs. C – Throwback!
I hear it all the time – I’m not a model, I can’t do photos like that! Very few of the women that are on my website are actual models. As a Denver boudoir photographer, I am so thrilled when women decide to say to heck with that fear, and take the plunge to do their own session! Moms, sisters, wives, grandmothers – I work with women from all walks of life, and I’m so pleased to share this session!
This gorgeous woman is Mrs. C, we had the chance to do her session in my Denver boudoir studio awhile back! I know that it might seem odd to think about, but even the women that we look at as the most beautiful have some insecurities. We all have some body struggles, and I love that she is totally honest with her feelings! Not every day is an awesome day, and some days are harder than others. We all have days when we wake up and look in the mirror and go YIKES. Boudoir photos can be a reminder that you ARE beautiful, even on those rough days.
Describe my body in 5 words
Soft, Curvy, Strong, … I can’t think of any more positive words about me physically
How do you feel about your body?
It gets me where I need to go. My husband finds pleasure in looking at it. Too flabby.
What do you love about your body?
Big breasted, My skin and hair is soft, I have long eyelashes, and it carries stories of adventures and misdeeds in its scars.
How did you feel about being half naked in front of the camera?
I was really nervous but not scared. I had my mission in mind and had fun in the process.
How did you feel after seeing the photos we created?
Completely floored. There was no way that was me and I looked that good. I knew that when I gave it to my husband for our tenth anniversary that he would love it.
What do you wear when you want to feel amazingly gorgeous?
A little bit of make up, style my hair, some nice clothes with no holes in them, but mostly some cute undergarments.
What’s your best tip for feeling sexy?
Forget every thought about yourself that has crossed your mind and show your inner glow. If you can feel good about how you look and who you are as an individual then you can blind every one you meet with how confident and sexy you as a woman are.
How do you feel about your age?
Age has never bothered me. As a kid I would see my aunts freak out when they reached a certain age. They would start to act older and that made them look older. I watched as people who were well into their silver years traveling, exploring, enjoying life to the fullest and they would always tell me that, ” You are only as old as you feel.” So I will proudly say that this year I will be 35.
Do you feel like your age affects how sexy you really are?
Not in the slightest. Yes my breasts are not as perky as they once were and now I have a few lines showing worry and laughter on my face. But I am so much more comfortable with me. No more awkwardness of trying things just to see where you fit in the large scheme of things.
What gets better with age?
Love. Fulfillment. Self confidence. No more trying to make this person happy or is that person mad at me. We are grown ups and should be able to handle disappointment, sadness, and all the frustrations that life throws at us.
What’s the best compliment you ever received?
To be honest I can’t remember. But every time I put effort into my appearance the look in my Husband’s eyes says it all. Not to mention that my five year old says I look beautiful at the oddest of times.
Why did you decide to do a boudoir session?
A few reasons. My tenth anniversary was coming up and I had been racking my brain for something to get my Husband. Whenever I ask him what he wants, he looks at me and says, “You.” So I was friends with Brooke via Facebook and reached out for her expertise. I also had never been into going to the salon and taking time for myself and I wanted to feel good about me again. Last but not least, my close friend won a white sheet session and had loved it.
What is the thing you would want to share most with other women when it comes to getting half naked in front of a camera?
I dare you to do it. It takes courage to show your skin and be photographed. But the confidence boost is well worth the smile fatigue. Brooke is very passionate but professional about her work. Lets just say that at the end I found myself comfortable enough to walk around with next to nothing on like I was at home.
Are there any memories that stick out to you that trigger certain feelings about how you feel about your body – negative or positive?
Sure there are. I have been overweight most of my life. My parents, brothers, and other people would constantly make me feel like I didn’t fit their idea of how I should look. They had no qualms in telling me so whenever the mood struck them. When I would get to see my aunt the first thing she would say was how beautiful I was. Every time. My close friends would tell me that my soul was beautiful and that it showed on the outside. So just like every other person I have had ups and downs. But what I keep close to my heart is that I know who I am; how I look is only a piece of the puzzle.
If you wanted to tell your daughter, niece, or a young girl anything about how she feels about herself, what would you want to share?
Don’t let any one outside your family tell you how you should or should not look. Dress to bring your inner sparkle out. Respect your body because its the only one you will ever get.
