I feel like I need a bumper sticker of this – SO true!

Ms. M has been through a LOT – from living with so little, to moving forward with her life, and realizing her own strength. I am in love with her hair color, and her smile is one that makes everyone present smile too. Her Colorado boudoir photography session was unique and fun, we laughed a LOT! One of her answers to the feature questions below made me tear up a little.

I know I say it a lot, but I truly do work with some of the most amazing women in the world. All of them have a story, something that has personally affected them and made them who they are. I’m so blessed to be able to help them tell that story, and capture some amazing moments for them!

How did you feel after seeing the photos we created?

I was in shock. At time I even had to ask if it was really me. Seeing myself in such a way was very new to me. Especially wearing so little.

How do you feel about your age?

My age isn’t really something thats ever been too big of a deal for me. I have friends that are all over the place in age. But as I get closer to 30, I think about it alot more. Like, really? I’m almost 30? A lot of times I still don’t even feel like an adult.

What is one piece of advice you would like to share with your younger self?

Don’t let what the other kids say to you get you down. You will have good times and you will have bad times, but guess what? None of those times ever had anything to do with your weight.

Why did you decide to do a boudoir session?

It was something I’d never done before, and never even thought I had the courage for. One of my best friends had told me about her photoshoot, and showed me the booklet she purchased and I was blown away. She’s a beautiful woman both inside and out, but the photo’s brought out a side of her I had never seen. It made me wonder if it was something I could do as well.

What gets better with age?

I think that my ability to find myself beautiful has gotten better with age. I don’t hold the things against myself that I when I was younger. I still have issues accepting people compliments, but they are definitely appreciated more now.

When you are facing a day feeling kind of blah, what do you do to turn it around and help yourself feel beautiful and confident again?

After a blah kind of day, I usually like to take a hot bath. I’ll light some candles and turn the lights off, and with my tablet to watch Netflix, and some chocolate. Its like tuning everything out, and just focusing on myself for a little while. It makes it even better when I have bath fizzies from Lush.

Another bumper sticker, although is this too long for a bumper sticker? How about one that takes up the whole bumper?

SO SO SO SO true. YOU are not your weight. YOU are not a number on a scale. YOU are not a number on a tag. You are an individual, you are important, you matter, and you are enough, just as you are.
