Denver Couples Photography – J & T
As I write this, I wonder which state to talk about – Colorado, or Florida? While I’m based in Colorado (native baby yeah!) I shoot in Florida quite a bit, and LOVE it there! It’s a completely different dynamic, to be outdoors in the water. Usually the water is too cold here to really do a ton of photos while immersed, but we do it anyway, we just have to keep it short.
I am asked often what type of photography I specialize in, and my answer is pretty clear: women & couples. No, I don’t just do boudoir – shocking, right? I REALLY love to catch the connection between two people that love each other. There is just something about the way that a big buff man looks at the woman he loves that melts my heart. I believe wholeheartedly that we are created to be different, to compliment each other, and the contrast between a man and woman is something I love to photograph.
J & T are a couple that I met in Florida last year. They were facing a HUGE life decision involving moving to a different country, clear across the world, away from all of their family members and they people they loved. Except that in all of the craziness, they would have the most important thing – each other. Workout partners, WORK partners, and life partners, in the short amount of time that I spent with them, the way they treated each other made me snuggle my own husband a little closer. They weren’t able to do the traditional engagement and wedding photos, but wanted some photos to share with family to lessen the blow of moving away. Tom & I were happy to oblige.
Life sometimes takes us in some crazy directions. Travel, work, kids – there are so many things that compete for our attention.

When things get hard and you wonder why you’re with this person, having that memory displayed proudly on your wall is a reminder of your love and commitment.
Thank you SO much J & T for reminding me how important that relationship is, both last year, and today while going through these images again! We all need a few reminders every now and then, right?
Let it never be said that we don’t have fun…

So many people have told me “we haven’t had photos taken since our wedding.” And then they tell me they’ve been married 15 years… umm we need to take some photos of you!!
