Colorado Boudoir Photographer Throwback: Featuring the Gorgeous Mrs. M!
I can hardly believe it’s been so long since I met this wonderful woman, and we did her session! Today’s throwback session is with a beautiful woman that I have become friends with over the years. Her session was definitely different, as she brought some comfy jammies, and wanted some photos in the jammies, not just lingerie. It was a ton of fun, she knows what she likes and I loved it!
Mrs. M has fought several medical issues and is so strong, her stories about her kids just crack me up. She is a mom and medical professional, and wanted some photos for her dear husband.
Her story about strength, and I’m so happy that she is comfortable sharing it. I know in my heart that my job, working with such amazing women, is to be a story teller through photos. I don’t feel comfortable sharing someone else’s story, so sometimes writing posts can be hard. Mrs. M opens up about her story and it brought me to tears. I have a feeling that we all have something that we can relate to in the words below.

How do you feel about your age?
I think 35 has been a hallmark year for me. It has been one of the best years in my life. I have finally let go of insecurities, embraced myself, my body, and accept that I am me, I can be nothing more or less and that I am enough. Those have been very deep rooted struggles for me in the past and now I can look at myself in the mirror and honestly say “Hello there gorgeous!”
Is there one piece of advice you would give your younger self?
Hold tight. Life is hard, and it’s supposed to be. All the trials and tribulations that you are experiencing is only molding you into an amazing woman.
Are there feelings that stick out to you that trigger certain feelings about how you feel about your body? Negative or Positive.
When I was younger I was a victim of molestation and rape. That set the course for Anorexia and never feeling like I was beautiful naked. I would always have to have the lights off and couldn’t stand looking at myself in the mirror. While I still at times have issues, most of the time I am able to look at myself and have the utmost confidence in my sexiness. I have come to separate my body from my attackers. Of course having a husband who every time he sees you makes comments on how amazing you are. :)
How did I feel about being half naked in front of a camera?
My session took amazing courage to do. I was nervous throughout half of it, and bless Brooke. She did her best to calm me down. It wasn’t easy because I kept getting flash backs. However, Brooke is amazing and you can look through my pictures and see exactly where she managed to finally calm me down and relax. Those are my favorite pictures from the session. I was positive they would be horrible and nothing like the ones I have seen her advertise. But after sitting down and going through them, I was astounded that I looked like that. I am sexy and beautiful. She posed me in ways that even highlighted what I thought were imperfections and I realized they are some of my best features! Like my hips and boobs. They’re not huge! They’re curvalicous!
If you wanted to tell your daughter, niece, or a young girl anything about how she feels about herself or being a woman, what would you want to share?
The one thing I would share with my daughter is that confidence is the most important accessory she can wear. Not her hair, makeup or clothes. Not her weight, or height. It’s her confidence in herself. Nothing will turn heads quicker than a woman who walks with confidence. With confidence you can tackle your dreams. When you’re confident, you will always be an amazing woman.
Wise, wise words. I know that my outlook on things has definitely changed since I had my daughter, and I love the stories that I read about Mrs. M’s daughter. There is not a doubt in my mind that she will grow up to be strong and brave!
