Boudoir Photography Aurora CO – Featuring the Amazing Ms. A
Today I’m excited to feature a stunning woman that I had a ton of fun with! When I shoot boudoir photography in Aurora, CO and Denver, CO – and basically all over – I really am blessed to work with the most amazing clients. I have so much I want to say with this feature, I’m not really sure where to start.
First – Ms. A came into the idea of doing her session primarily for herself – which is one of my most favorite ideas that my clients have! Yes, I know that boudoir makes an amazing gift for a partner, but in the end, it really is a gift for YOU, and she knew that. She also told me that she wanted to remember the experience in its entirety – which I really, really loved as well. So many women think that coming into a session requires alcohol, or something to dull the senses. Yes, I do love a mean cocktail, and I understand that alcohol can loosen inhibitions and help someone to relax. But when it comes to an experience that is empowering and should help you feel amazing, alcohol isn’t necessary. Will I tell you no if you want a glass of wine? No… but drunk eyes are never sexy, and I want you to completely remember your experience and love it. Ms. A understood that, and she was so excited for her session!
Had a few friends choose the Groupon route and once I saw their pictures, I knew it was the incorrect route to take. I read up on Brooke Summer Photography and the whole website brought me to tears . . . Happy tears! There was a connection there without even chatting with anyone – that’s when I knew it was the boudoir photography studio for me!
Ms. A had the same concerns we all have when it comes to taking off our clothes, and the insecurities were definitely there, but a few minutes in, I could tell she was feeling better and laughing more.
I am so excited to share these photos, and Ms. A’s amazing word that brought me to tears. She is a mom of three kids, works in an intense job, and is strong and funny. She’s just beautiful!
How did you feel about being half naked in front of the camera?
At first, I was terrified and shaking so much that I’m sure Brooke could hear the tremble in my voice! That feeling didn’t last very long though – after about 2 minutes I was very comfortable and confident because of how Brooke spoke to me – very calming and positive! We chatted like we had been friends for years!
What’s your best tip for feeling sexy?
This may sound silly but it works for me every time; get a pedicure and have them paint your toes an extra shiny, candy apple red color – then, go home and put on your cutest, highest pair of peep toe stilettos with some cute jeans, a lacy bra under a fancy top and meet some gals for a cocktail and girl talk!
What gets better with age?
Knowledge and your sense of who you really are! (and Mario Lopez’ dimples) :)
What is one piece of advice you would like to share with your younger self?
Life is too short to try to please everyone all the time. It’s impossible and extremely stressful. Do YOU! Do whatever it takes to make yourself happy – you will always have supporters as well as haters. Brush off the haters and keep your supporters close! Being happy in life makes your world SO much brighter!
What’s the best compliment you ever received?
Had a complete stranger come up to me and tell me that I was beautiful so I should walk like I knew I was beautiful!
Why did you decide to do a boudoir session?
Tricky to talk about but here we go . . . Doing a boudoir session has been on my bucket list for many years! It was scary for me to even think about because I was in some previous relationships that were not so pleasant. When I was younger, men would tell me that I was too short, too curvy, my boobs weren’t big enough or my butt was too flat . . it was just one insult after another. So, after hearing this over and over again, one starts to believe these statements are true. . . It takes a while for the mind to mend, for a stronger person to emerge and for confidence to build but I DID IT! So fast forward about 15 years and now, being a mom of 3 and 40 years old, I feel my photos PROVE there is a strong, confident woman inside and my boudoir session ended up being a type of therapy session for me – with a happy ending knowing I can slam the book closed on my past chapters and open a new book with a stronger, happier me!! The session with Brooke made me feel pampered and powerful all at the same time! It was amazing! Definitely a must-do for any woman’s bucket list.
