Denver Boudoir Photography – Orange is the New Black Boudoir
First of all, can I just say that I am so happy for summer to be here. I think that there is no better place to for a Denver boudoir photography session than the metro area. We have amazing weather that can be a little crazy at times!Β This week the sun peeked out just long enough to inspire me to break out my sandals and skirts only long enough until I actually put them on and then hail welcomed my champagne colored flip-flops. Luckily for me, I have discovered some entertainment lately to keep me cool inside. While I’ve heard the buzz surrounding Orange is the New Black, I didn’t think a show about a woman’s prison was for me. That is until I watched two episodes and then binge watched the rest of the season in a week. I am SO excited that Season 2 will has a release date tomorrow, and I will definitely be checking Netflix to watch more! The show is engaging, heartfelt, funny, dramatic and a true slice of humanity in all its raw beauty. To get a taste of this fantastic show, check out the link the the trailer for season two!
What I will also tell you is that Orange is one of the hottest colors this year!
Not to be limited to Halloween; PantoneΒ has named Celosia Orange one of the top 10 colors for spring 2014. The nice thing about this particular shade is it possesses all the allure of a tropical sunset without the garishness of a pumpkin. Orange is an energetic and happy color, and this cold summer I find myself coveting this vibrant shade. It invokes all the mystery of far off lands such as India, sweet smelling spice markets and balmy evenings.Β If you aren’t as daring, you can tone it down with nude heels and a classic piece of jewelry such as amber or orange topaz surrounded by rhinestones or diamonds. Also if you aren’t brave enough to flaunt a full on orange, you can incorporate another color with a shade of orange that will have a similar effect. For example our fabulous client Miss M brought in and adorable slip in a shade right between Celosia Orange and Cayenne it is still a pinky tone with all the warmth of orange without the commitment.
Β
On the other hand, if you like to make more of a statement, orange has a very free spirited bohemian feel to it that goes well with earthy tones as well as contrasting colors such as turquoise, blue or the tropical pink of a Hawaiian plumeria. So if you find yourself chilly and longing for spring, this is the perfect time to incorporate these fun colors into your Denver boudoir photography session!Β So be brave, embrace the exuberance of this powerful shade! While I canβt promise that orange really is the new black, I can say that it is way too pretty to be confined to the inside of a prisonβ¦ unless you spray tan too much, but thatβs another story for another day.
