Yes, two exclamation points in the title. Inappropriate grammar. I’m crazy, it’s a Manic Monday right? Instead of crazy randomness, I decided to share with you some photos of two very awesome events that we were fortunate enough to attend a couple of weeks ago. So hold onto your seats for this awesomeness. Oh, and one disclaimer – I didn’t bring my camera with me. Well, not my CAMERA. I just had my camera. My little point and shoot. I’m guessing that any photographers reading this know the difference. When you have your point and shoot with you, it’s not really your CAMERA, it’s just there. So all of these were taken with the little point and shoot! Oh another disclaimer – I wasn’t the official photographer for the party. Just a guest with a point and shoot and a fabulous purse. Oh and fabulous shoes that I had to take off halfway through because they were SO fabulous they hurt like hell. Are you with me ladies? Ha!
In October, I was invited to an event that was VERY exciting for me. We are so fortunate to have so many awesome groups in Colorado for photographers, and when three of them got together to put on ONE event, it has to be great, right? Mile High Photographers, Denver SmugMUG, and Denver PUG joined forces to host an event with a guest speaker that I feel like I personally know, even though we have never met in person – Christopher Becker. AKA – BECKER. Or
So three groups of photographers, and an awesome guest speaker – sounds like a killer night, right? There was one problem though – it was scheduled on the same night as the Anna Be five year anniversary party, that I REALLY wanted to go to. I was torn! I found out later, there were quite a few of us that were torn. Fast forward to about a week before the event, when the groups announced that not only were we going to have this fantastic speaker, but afterwards, Anna Be was partnering to make sure we could all go to the party too! YAY!!! I was SO thrilled, I was one of the first to register. Yep, that fast.
I really didn’t know what to expect from Becker. When we arrived, I was surprised to see him just wandering around. I was a little starstruck, and half expected him to be hiding behind some curtain or something, not quite that accessible. So naturally, I had to take a photo right? And Becker actually took the photo of me and the beautiful Taryn with him. He swore he was really good at it and didn’t need someone else to take the photo, and he was right! **Note** My hair is not normally that huge, it just hadn’t calmed down from the rollers yet. Don’t judge.
Becker did a VERY fast version of his BECKER system – basically a system to rock your business and be successful! I felt kind of bad that he was so rushed, but I loved the information he presented. I guess I’m lucky that I sometimes speak very quickly, therefore can understand it!
Becker wrapped up his presentation and we chatted for awhile, before grabbing our tickets to head on over to Anna Be’s party. Yay! So far an awesome night, about to be even more awesome. The party was at Mile High Station, a beautiful venue just out of the downtown Denver area. I’ve been there previously for other events, I know how nice it is – but I didn’t know that several designers would be dressing up the venue for the party too! There was a red carpet, and just as we walked in, burlesque dancers were shaking their stuff. We were literally JUST walking in, so we didn’t get to see a lot though, until the crowd dispersed a little bit to mingle!
Guys take note from the guys at Boulder Wine – never let a lady’s glass go empty! They kept filling it with champagne, without me even noticing! We wandered around to look at the displays, I was amazed. The tablescapes and decorations were gorgeous! I was bummed that I didn’t have my CAMERA with me because I felt like the point and shoot wasn’t doing them justice! I’m sure the event photographer will post some awesome images, the details were fantastic!
Sign + lights + crystal curtain = LOVE. Bling baby!
Ostrich feathers are just so fun. My mother was dead set against them at our wedding ha!
I know several of the vendors that were at the event but I don’t know who did what decorations! So please, if you know, I would love to add their information. This chandelier in particular was just stunning. I love love LOVE chandeliers, especially with lots of crystals on them! The mirror on the table reflected the crystals, it was beautiful!
We made our way to the second floor and watched the party from above. Soul School was the entertainment for the evening, Tom was thrilled. We have seen them a few times, and love to dance – they put on a great show!
This area upstairs was decorated with glass windows on either side of the corner, I fell in love with the windows. They had opaque visions of Aspen trees, it was so beautiful and even with the party going on it felt like an area of calm, to just sit and relax.
A lot of people were talking early in the evening, but a little later the dance floor filled up more and more.
Just as we were getting ready to leave, we had to ask my friend John to take a photo of us. After all, we were all glammed up for the evening! He cleans up nice, right? ;)
We had a blast, and I’m looking forward to this holiday season. There are so many parties, and a TON of fun to be had in the next couple of months!
Soooo glad you were able to make it to both. Loved the photos… Especially since I was not able to make it:( hope you took away some great messages and inspiration!!!
