I put off writing these posts because they are so emotional and overwhelming for me, but man they are so much fun to do. As the best Denver boudoir photographer, I have the privilege of working with the most amazing women and couples in the world! I don’t say that lightly either.

This year, I have worked with women who have been raped, abused, neglected, assaulted, have faced serious physical challenges, emotional heartbreak, eating disorders, body dismorphia, and more. I have worked with couples that have been through suicide, divorce, infidelity, death of a child, and more.

My clients’ stories fuel me, and fire me up. I will write more about this in the future, but I share this now to share one thing:

YOU ARE STRONG.

I have been through some crazy situations myself, and my clients have some stories of their own – we are all strong, we get through it and we move on.

And the best part about my clients is that they are the people who get through the bullshit, move on, and then LIFT OTHERS UP. They’re not the people that will trample others to get what they want. My clients are empowering. Smart. Beautiful. Fearless. Funny. Witty. Fierce. Strong. Dauntless. Audacious.

AND SO MUCH MORE.

This past year has held so many changes, so I wanted to share a few memories.

Driving to the top of a fourteener (for any non-Coloradans, that’s a mountain over 14,000 feet in elevation) in the dark to catch the most amazing sunrise while freezing our asses off.

Custom building the new studio and doing more painting and refinishing than I ever want to do in my lifetime.

Trying to move the bubbles in the clawfoot bath to cover up just the right spots to avoid any… slippage.

Being photobombed by the sweetest pitbull ever.

Doing THREE MOVES in the course of a month.

Laughing so hard during a session that we had to touch up eye makeup in the corners of eyes.

Crying together over shared stories of past abuse.

Celebrating over a surprise proposal.

Driving to a lake in a crazy rainstorm, to watch it blow over and be able to shoot on a deserted beach.

Getting lost in California and having to climb thousands of steps after shooting in the water to find my car.

So many shared tears with my clients, happy and sad, over stories, circumstances, and situations.

Tears just in writing this.

To embrace yourself, and womanhood, your connections, your strength – is one of the best things that you can ever do for yourself. And I tell you this because I know, because it is a struggle for ME every single day.

They say that sometimes teachers teach messages that they themselves need to hear – and that is so, so true.

I need to hear that I am strong too. That I am beautiful too. And every single time I work with one of my clients, I am reminded of that, through THEIR journeys.

Full on ugly cry now, people.

I want to thank all of my clients for trusting me with these intimate photos. For trusting me with these moments. For laughing with me, crying with me, shrugging when I drop an f-bomb by accident because we all KNOW it’s going to happen at least once during a session. For bringing all of your outfits to have me tell you that wearing nothing will be the most flattering, and trusting me when I say that. For sharing your stories with me. For believing in me, in what I do, and YOURSELF.

2017 was truly full of adventures. While I would like to believe that 2018 will be calmer, I know myself well enough to know that isn’t the case. I seek adventure and will keep calling upon the beautiful women and couples that I work with to join me in those adventures.

Thank you so much.

Love & Adventures,
