Happy Wedding Wednesday everyone!
This week I have been immersed in my own honeymoon plans, so I thought that I would take today to chat a little bit about honeymoons. You’ve just spent a ton of money on a wedding, months of planning, freaking out every a little tiny detail, and the stress has added up. The wedding day is over, it was amazing, and now what? Some couples choose to put off their honeymoon, but I have heard from SEVERAL couples that following the wedding immediately with some down time is an excellent way to go!
It can be a really hard decision. Do you want beaches or do you want museums? Do you want to drive somewhere and do a road trip, just the two of you, or do you want to fly to some unknown country and experience things for the first time, together? I scoured the web for ideas, thoughts, suggestions, and found kind of the same old stuff. The same ideas, the same thoughts, the same articles. We were looking for something different. Something unique. Something that would be a little more “out there” than just flying down to Mexico for a week.
As I was going through website after website, photo after photo, I came across a few ideas that I wanted to share. Some ideas that are a little different, and will push you a little out of your comfort zone. Or, take you right into your fairy tale all over again. The wedding may be over but the happily ever after isn’t, right?
We chose something a little different, a little crazy, and a little “out there” for our honeymoon. I won’t go into details just yet because I want to be able to write more about it… but here are a few ideas that I came across that I loved!
This gorgeous photo is from the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, in Alberta, Canada. Doesn’t it look like heaven? I really like this idea, spending time together in a secluded resort in the mountains. What a gorgeous lake, it looks like a caribbean destination, without the crowds!
Wow. Can you imagine sitting here at night, just looking out over the ocean? What an amazingly calm and serene evening that would be! This is the Amankila resort in Bali, Indonesia. I would love to just sit in the water, under the stars, with the ocean in front of me!
Ahh yes, you guys had to see this coming, right? I actually wanted to get married at Disneyland, under the castle. That idea didn’t work out so well because of other things that needed to happen, but how awesome would it be to go to Disneyworld or Disneyland for your honeymoon!? I know I know… a lot of people think Disney is just for kids. But you can do a fireworks cruise on the water, with just the two of you – that would be absolutely magical! And then you can saunter over to the Mad Hatter and pick up your bride and groom Mickey ears. I want some of those SO bad, but they’re sold out online. Too cool!
A few ideas for a fun honeymoon… and a hint about ours. :) Happy Wedding Wednesday!
