Okay I have two suggestions for the Monday title for the ongoing randomness that will be my Mondays. Manic Monday, or Funday Monday? Thoughts? Suggestions?
First random thought today – I really dislike the person that told me “don’t worry, your skin will stop breaking out once you reach your 20’s.” Right. I was 16 when several people told me that, and you KNOW who you are people. Right now, I don’t like you. I might love you, but I don’t like you. Here’s reality for lots of people, sorry to be so blunt but it is what it is – for certain people, your face will never stop breaking out. There, I said it. Accept it, buy awesome concealer and move on. Whew!
I have decided that an acceptable substitution for M&M’s with my popcorn are Twizzlers. Yum. Weird, but Yum. Bonus: it takes the popcorn yuckies out of your teeth. It probably leaves Twizzlers yuckies there, but hey, it’s a small price to pay right?
The rehearsal dinner site is set – Maggiano’s. O. M. G. Delicious. Seriously, one of my favorite restaurants. LOVE the Mushroom Ravioli Al Forno – to DIE for! Is it weird that the rehearsal dinner is confirmed before the caterer?
Yikes there’s another scary topic. Catering. We had NO idea what goes into catering for a wedding, so of course we didn’t budget for it, and now we have little mini heart attacks every time we see quotes. Whew. Deep breaths. It’s crazy, seriously crazy. How does a quote go from $20/pp to $49/pp?! Whew… more deep breaths. I have a meeting with a caterer on Saturday to see what we can come up with. We definitely want something fun and different – not the same old meat and potatoes and string beans kind of thing. We’re open to suggestions, so I will put this out there: What have you guys seen on wedding shows, seen at friends’ weddings, thought about doing yourself that you think would be fun and different? Unique, interactive preferably, funky, yummy and DIFFERENT? We’re thinking mac and cheese, sliders, stuff like that! Thoughts, suggestions?
Happy Valentines Day! Even if you’re single, you can still make it a day about love. :) Before Tom and I were together, Kaden and I would always make a special day out of it. It’s not just a lovers’ holiday! I firmly believe in taking any opportunity to celebrate and have fun and parties and gifts and happiness. Make it your own, don’t let anyone else tell you what you have to do on Valentines Day!
Tom brought me flowers on Friday, in a GORGEOUS red vase! Red roses of course, and his gift to me was a camera. Not just a camera, but a RED camera! A Sony DSC-W370. I will write a review on it later, but for now I’ll just give you a pretty picture – even though it’s one I did not take.
And again for any photographers reading – it’s a camera. Not a CAMERA. ;) It’s a point and shoot, something small to keep in my purse. He asked me the other night if I like it… and I do, I really do. It’s just… to really LIKE a point and shoot is hard when you’re used to the real thing. It’s hard to be used to filet mignon and go back to hot dogs, ya know? But it’s a necessary evil, because the CAMERA doesn’t fit in my purse. Even though my purse is huge. Still. Small and easy to carry, it works in a pinch.
Stay tuned tomorrow for an adorable newborn shoot! I even have a photo of this kid doing the Matrix pose. Seriously awesome!
Happy Valentines Day to everyone – do what you want, celebrate with anyone that floats your boat, and don’t think it has to be a lovers’ holiday. It is what you make it, so make it awesome!
