Denver Wedding Photography – Happy Anniversary to Dana and Ben! – Westin Downtown Denver, CO

One year ago today, I had the pleasure of second shooting a wedding with the gorgeous Ms. Kim Nodurft at the Westin, in downtown Denver. When she called me to second shoot, she told me that this would be a fun wedding, on the rooftop of the hotel at sunset. And it was in my most favorite month, October – who could say no to that? That morning, it snowed. SNOW, in October! The rooftop plans had to be changed to a ballroom wedding indoors, and any other bride would have been upset.

Dana was, and is, amazing. I had to really go through these photos and find the pictures where she isn’t smiling SUPER huge – because that is how the day went. The entire wedding had changed into something unexpected due to weather, and she was still smiling, all day. She is my kind of bride – super expressive, happy, and thrilled to be saying I Do to the love of her life – not worried about the little things that she can’t control. Ben was a quieter groom, he followed Dana’s lead throughout the day. I watched him closely though, and some of my most favorite photos from this day were when I caught him looking at her. She could have been talking to someone else, laughing with friends, or dancing, and he looked at her with such adoration and awe. A year later, it makes my heart smile.

Happy Anniversary to both of you, I hope that your first year of marriage has been filled with awesomeness!

The entire day was filled with smiles and happiness, and as the night wore on, the groomsmen were QUITE the party guys. Never in a negative way though – they were enjoying themselves and the life of the party. They pulled Dana onto the dance floor several times throughout the evening, and cheered with Journey, Bon Jovi, and Haddaway came on!
