Denver Boudoir – What to Wear For a Boudoir Shoot – Wonder Woman!
I have wanted to be Wonder Woman for Halloween since… oh, about high school. I think I was 19 when I decided this. I vividly remember Googling photos of Wonder Woman, and I was THRILLED when I discovered that the ORIGINAL comic book character didn’t wear the super short hot pants, but instead wore a skirt. Which is what I wanted. No, this still hasn’t happened. But it WILL! One of these years.
I have decided that I want a cape as well, and not just any cape, but the Linda Carter satin with lots of beautiful stars and bling cape. You know, the kind that will take far too much skill and time to make. Two things that I don’t have a lot of when it comes to sewing – ha! My husband and I have been arguing about the cape for about six months now. He says that Wonder Woman wouldn’t wear a cape, and I argue that she WOULD, just not when she is fighting crime. She would only wear it for special events. After all, what if she gets cold at a Halloween party, or walking to the car? Or what if she wanted to step it up a notch with her costume? It’s like a well tailored suit – hot without the jacket, but for the nicer occasions, a jacket is necessary and looks awesome.
Am I RIGHT people? Who can help me out here?
Hehe I crack myself up.
Amy and I have been working on ideas for what to wear for your boudoir session, and we have been trying to think a little outside of the box lately. Last week we had an amazing shoot in the MIDDLE OF THE FOREST. That’s right, nekkid in the forest. It was AMAZING, and I have been working with my clients recently to really GO for it when it comes to their sessions. There are so many fun options, and we wanted to start showing some ideas.
So in honor of the amazing comic book heroine who would absolutely wear a cape for special occasions, I give you today’s special on what to wear for your boudoir shoot – Wonder Woman Style!
Typically when people think of Wonder Woman, they think of the red, blue and gold. Which is definitely appropriate, but not the only option! So I included some pink too, just because… well, because I can. ;)
I have had the pleasure of shooting a Wonder Woman boudoir session, although I can’t share full photos because of privacy. I did however get the okay to share this one! This was an actual costume, and it was SUPER cool!
Costumes are a ton of fun, but you don’t HAVE to wear a costume to embrace your inner super hero.
