Denver Boudoir Photos – Featuring: The Gorgeous Miss D

I am fortunate in my life to be surrounded by amazing women. My mothers (mom, mother-in-law, step-mother), my grandmothers, my friends and my clients have all been through various things in their lives, and have come out to be the awesome ladies that they are today.

Miss D is no exception.

She is funny, kind, strong, beautiful and sweet, and I am honored to call her my friend. And now, she is one of my gorgeous clients as well!

Describe your body in 5 words: Voluptuous, curvy, soft, luscious and MINE! I am a constant work in progress, but I love my curves!!

How did you feel about being half naked in front of the camera? I had no trouble being naked….. I LOVE being naked!! Lol!!

How did you feel after seeing the photos we created? I was amazed. I still take time to look at them! It shocks me when I forget it is me!! You captured in a photo what I want to always remember…. I am not perfect in the eyes of all, but I am me, and that is perfect to me!

What do you wear when you want to feel amazingly gorgeous? For me, matching bra & panties is sexy. And a pedicure….. I feel gorgeous with those things in place.

What’s your best tip for feeling sexy? If you take the time to truly learn & accept yourself, sexy is who you are naturally.

How do you feel about your age? I will be 45 next week. I am not sure what I expected, being 45, but I am the healthiest — mind, body and soul — than ever before in my life. Oh, I have moments of doubt, but we all do! Ultimately, I love my life AND I am only looking forward to many more birthdays!!

Do you feel like your age affects how sexy you really are? I wish I could have told the 25 year old me how unbelievably sexy I would feel as I accepted myself!! I am able to enjoy being with someone…. and know I am sexy, strong…. and a bit spicy! Not worrying about the imperfections others may think I have allows me to enjoy every moment of life….

What gets better with age? Sex gets better with age. Honestly….. much much better!! By letting go of the “worries” I had throughout my life, I am able to connect on a whole new level. It’s amazing!

What is something you would want to share most with other women when it comes to getting half naked in front of a camera? Women can be such negative creatures. We constantly pick, either at ourselves or others. We rarely forgive ourselves. We silence our burdens, trying to not appear weak or unable. Stop comparing. Start accepting. First yourself, then others. We are all special, unique, deserving and above all….we are beautiful. Do the photos to capture yourself without any of the negative …. do it to capture you… right now. Beautiful!

Are there any memories that stick out to you that trigger certain feelings about how you feel about your body – negative or positive? I was the fat girl growing up. I was made fun of. Cruelty was always around me. I hid my body under baggy clothes. Big sweatshirts. I look back now and I feel sad, but more for those who have missed out on sharing more of this life with me. Their negativity used to almost control me, even years later. That stopped eventually. It was liberating to release those memories, fears, feelings.

If you wanted to tell your daughter, niece, or a young girl anything about how she feels about herself, what would you want to share? Find yourself along the way of your life. Don’t forget, the most important person on the journey throughout your life is YOU!! Our relationships along the way shape us to be exactly who we are, even when it seems they have no positive value at the time. Learn to forgive yourself. Learn to love.

Is there anything else that you would like to share about your story, why you did your session, or your overall experience? I wasn’t always where I am now, when it comes to being okay being me. Some days are still tough, but ultimately, I know the woman in these photos is who I truly am. I shared the pictures with my mom…. my bff’s…. even my son. And someday I will proudly show them to my granddaughters. I will share them, and tell of my journey to become “ME”…..

I am so thrilled that so many of my amazing clients opt to share their photos. There is a misconception that boudoir is just to get a guy’s motor running. While that is a welcome side effect for our guys, it is not why I shoot boudoir. A lot of my clients come to me because it’s a gift for him, but I am told over and over again that it ends up being a gift for the women on the other side of my lens.
