Total transparency: I’m angry. It’s for something completely unrelated to my Denver boudoir photos, or my clients, it’s personal – but still, that anger is lingering and burning hot.

So instead of doing something that could mean I end up in prison, I figured writing would be a better outlet, yes?

There has been a collective awakening in the past few years among women. Women standing up and saying NO MORE.

No more being quiet.

No more trying to avoid rocking the boat or walking on eggshells.

No more dimming ourselves so someone else won’t feel small.

No more contorting everything about ourselves, from our bodies, to our voices, to our work, to our very beings just to fit into a relationship that doesn’t serve us in the first place.

I have been specializing in boudoir for 16 years now, and I have talked with so many women who have been through the same cycle.

If there’s one thing that my Denver boudoir photos sessions have taught me, it’s that we as women are NOT alone in our feelings when it comes to the frustration involved in being female in a patriarchal society that tries to teach us to be less.

Taking up space means reclaiming your right to be bold, emotional, joyful, sensual, angry, soft, loud – HUMAN. To be whatever the fuck you want to be, whoever the fuck you want to be, and HOWEVER the fuck you want to be. And that includes how you show up in your body.

That includes how you see yourself.

While there are SO many processes and ways to start stepping fully into that power, I have watched my clients do it throughout the years before, during, and after their Denver boudoir photos sessions.
