Denver Boudoir Photographer – The Secret About Boudoir

I take a lot of heat for what I do as a Denver boudoir photographer.

Why? There are so many people that truly misunderstand what boudoir is all about.

Yes, I take photos of women with little to no clothes on. Yes, I’ve seen lots of boobs, butts, and other body parts. Yes, oftentimes the resulting photographs are gifts for someone else, a little sexy something to celebrate special occasions.

But really?

Boudoir isn’t entirely about sex, or being sexy, or looking sexy.

I feel like this is a huge post in itself that I want to elaborate more on later, but on this snowy Tuesday, I wanted to share some words from my client, Mrs. M, that saw her photos last week, her husband joined her at her reveal appointment.

Oh my gosh! What a fantastic day!!! Who knew I could look that great- not me!?! {my husband} was already talking about what he wants the next time :) How awesome is that!!!… I feel like a whole new me. I cannot thank you enough. You are not just an artist- you are so much more and I hope you truly understand the powerfulness of what you do for people. It is a gift and not one many have or choose to share.

Ultimately, boudoir is about how you FEEL. Sexy starts in your mind. As the top Denver boudoir photographer, my goal is to make sure that you not only look amazing, but that you feel amazing. Because really, that is what will put a little pep in your step. That is what will make you feel a little sassy when your husband pinches your butt while you’re making dinner. Feeling sexy, and being reminded that you are beautiful can completely change your outlook on so many things.

I know what it’s like to feel blah. To feel like you’re always giving to others, taking care of others. To constantly feel like you’re not pretty enough. Good enough. Skinny enough. Choose whatever adjective you want in front of the word enough – we are constantly telling ourselves that we are NOT enough.

I want my clients to know that they ARE enough, just as they are, right now.

I want my clients to leave their sessions feeling gorgeous – even before they’ve seen any of the finished images.

I want my clients to have a renewed sense of beauty and sensuality, to be reminded that not only are they enough, but they are beautiful and deserve amazing things!

Mrs. M’s email had me in tears this morning. Happy tears, grateful tears.
